"Monstrance Reliquary Of Saint Bartholomew - 18th Century "
We will love the balance and unusual shape of this monstrance with its vegetal curve. In a tender decor of golden canetilles, geometrically placed pearls and colored glass beads, an ex-ossibus relic of Saint Bartholomew sits enthroned, exposed to fervor. It overlooks a second one, called exigua, of Saint Thaddeus, Martyr of the 10th century.
monstrance is made of carved and gilded wood and is surrounded by two palms, symbol of the Martyr.
Four seals seal our relic. Interesting handwritten note on the back specifies that the reliquary originally protected a relic of the True Cross.
An Italian work from the 18th century, in good condition despite some losses at the level of the base.
Dimensions: 61 cm by 24.
