"Immaculate Conception" of the Virgin Mary. Beautiful polychrome wooden sculpture on its period gilded wooden base. Under the base we can read: church of St-Martin Rouvres (Eure et Loire, diocese of Chartres), as well as two dates: 1716-1730). Missing part of the serpent that the Virgin tramples underfoot. Very baroque representation, we can think that it is of Rhenish origin. Period end of the 17th century.
