Clock Gilded Bronze Watchmaker : Godeau 1870
Very elegant cartel clock with its solid base in the Louis XV style, from the Napoleon III period. Stamped on its mechanism "E. Godeau", clockmaker referenced in the Tardy on the date of 1870, Tardy dictionary of French clockmakers.
Quality set of very good manufacture, thick architecture in gilded bronze of eventful shape decorated with foliage, a long garland of flowers on the front as well as a magnificent very slender vase finely worked in kidney twist accompanied by a fleuron and a fall of garland of flowers. Each face has an openwork area with geometric pattern framing the domed dial in white enamel and its gilded and finely chiseled hands, protected by a domed glass set in a bezel.
Original mechanism without modification. Hour and half strike on old bell.
Stamp on the plate of the mechanism "Patented mobile barrel". This is a system that allows the barrel axis to be blocked by reducing its mobility, providing a more homogeneous power delivery.
