He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon de la Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts. "He is highly sought after by Franche-Comté enthusiasts for his landscapes with a peaceful vision, almost intimate in the poetic evocation of the nature that surrounds him... art, he wrote, is for the artist what hunger is to the wolf: an absolute necessity".
