Perpignan Silver Jug, 18th Century
Tripod coffee pot in embossed and chiseled silver, pear-shaped, engraved with a coat of arms under a crown, and resting on three feet with lion paw motifs.
Triangular-section spout, chiseled at the base with a stylized shell motif. Side handle in turned wood, attached to the body of the coffee pot by a cylindrical silver sleeve.
Flattened dome lid, the surface decorated with circular moldings, the hinge with a scrolled motif near the finger rest, and topped with a flower-shaped grip.
Presents, on the bottom, the hallmarks of the city of Perpignan, last quarter of the 18th century, as well as that of the goldsmith Paul Arbal.
