18th Century Collectible Pewter - Curiosity Coat Of Arms Plate - Dated 1766
Collectible pewter dish, dated 1766.
This exceptional piece features a finely engraved coat of arms, divided into two parts: a key on one side and an eagle on the other.
This coat of arms is superimposed on two crossed flintlock rifles, surmounted by a cross intertwined with flames and the religious inscription "IHS", a Christian symbol.
The whole is elegantly surrounded by a garland of foliage and flowers, testifying to the refinement of the 18th century.
The border is decorated with a delicate frieze and bears the engraved date 1766, adding a beautiful authenticity to the object.
The dish is also hallmarked in two places: on the border at the front and on the reverse.
Dimensions: Diameter 37 cm
Condition: Good general condition, but note a small fixing hole in the border (see photos).
A beautiful period patina is present, confirming its age.
Rare and precious piece, ideal for lovers of old pewter and historical art objects.
