Table Service - Box Of 12 Carved Handle Knives - 18th / 19th Century Blade - Curiosity

Set of table knives dating from the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century, presented in a box. The reverse of the inside cover bears a label, mentioning the house "MORETTE jeunesse", successor to "M. Lesueur", established at the very end of the 18th century.

This set includes 12 knives with handles carved in the shape of a doe foot in a noble material and finely decorated with floral motifs, some decorated with small houses evoking a naturalist style.

The blades, made of steel, decorated with a hallmark representing a lying flower as well as letters or numbers (see photos).

The ferrules, between the handle and the blade, are silver, testifying to refined craftsmanship.

The whole is in good used condition despite some wear and defects,
Note a slight split which does not call into question the solidity of the sleeves.
