Double Blade Travel Knife, Orleans Circa 1775-81
Travel knife with two blades (one in silver, the other in steel) and a mother-of-pearl handle decorated with gold rosettes. Hallmarks: Charge and discharge: Orléans et Moulins, 1775-1781 Work attributed to the goldsmith Molle Louis Dimensions: Length: 11 cm Width: 1.4 cm Thickness: 0.8 cm Condition: small accidents, welds, cracks on the handle. A travel knife very similar to our example, made by the goldsmith Molle Louis, is kept in the collection of the Louvre Museum (main number: OA 9928).
