By Hokkei – Surimono representing a teapot, a stove and two cups on a tray. Series “The Five Elements”. This surimono is that of the element Earth. The first kyôka is signed Chiyo Sekibun: Hito dobin/ ake no haru to wa/ naritekeri Fukucha no nibana / ume no hatsuhana – A full teapot, and here comes spring! The bouquet of aromas of the “tea of happiness” is like the first plum blossoms. Japan 19th century, size: 18 x 20 cm. Framed piece.
