Netsuke – Unusual and superb model of a frog perched on a colocynth tail in carved wood. Boxwood. Brown horn inlay for the eyes. Very pretty sculpting details in the rendering of the animal's skin and in the appearance of the colocynth tail/stem. Length: 6.2cm. Japan Edo (1603-1868) 19th century.
