Burma, 1950s/1960s, Large Wooden Group Anglo-burmese Battle On Elephants
Burma, 1950s/1960s, magnificent and rare carved wooden group depicting a fight between Burmese troops and English troops. Soldiers riding elephants clash with spears and assegais. This very fine work refers to one of the three Anglo-Burmese wars that pitted Burma against the British forces established in India. Overall in good condition without shock or cracks. Very high quality creation. Many elements (characters, weapons, palanquin tops) are removable and can be easily dismantled. Dimensions: Length 44 cm (62 cm with the tops of the palanquins).
