Title PRIMUS... NAVALEM DE SICULI ET CLASSE POENICA EGIT. 259 BC.

Splendid and rare work by Rudolphus Claudus, depicting the first maritime victory of Roman Italy by Duilius Gaius. The battle then did not continue because the Carateginians fled to Palermo fearing a serious defeat. The Romana returned to Rome in 259 B.C. as triumphant.
