Tibet, late 19th century, large and superb vajra in lacquered and gilded bronze. The sculpture is particularly elaborate, especially on the heads of "makara" water dragons above the four points. This vajra is a rare piece that most certainly belonged, due to its dimensions and quality of execution, to a high-ranking lama.
Length: 26.5 cm. The scale indicator on the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a well-known brand.
Significant weight: 0.986 kg. Provenance: private collection of an enlightened amateur in the arts of the Himalayas.
