A pair of small corolla-shaped vases (or mantelpiece vases) in white opaline, known as ‘soap bubble’ opaline. The body is adorned with a delicate printed design in shades of pink, depicting bouquets and rosebuds on stems, whilst the rounded base is highlighted by a turquoise-tinted band embellished with broad fine gold fillets. The neck and pedestal are also edged with gilded fillets. France. Napoleonic III period.
