Masterfully battle scene attributed because of the style and the friendly verbal report of Mrs. Dr. Ruth Baljöhr, director of the art department of the Berlin auction house "Bassenge" to the very renowned French battle painter Louis Nicolas van Blarenberghe (1716-1794).
The artist Louis Nicolas had a son Henri Joseph, who was also a painter and also, whom he cooperated frequently: Together with the father, they stayed at the Palace of Versailles, in which they worked as miniaturists for the high society of their everyday life. Louis Nicolas van Blarenberghe also worked as an official field painter of the French court and followed the French army as a war reporter.
