J&j Kohn N°2 Viennese Bistro Bentwood Parrot On Pedestal Late 19th Century Thonet
Viennese bistro parrot in curved wood.
Very rare model n°2, called "double", by Jacob & Josef KOHN who was the creator and exclusive manufacturer (never existed at thonet or any other manufacturer of curved wood furniture).
Considered the most elaborate of the Viennese parrots.
Also existed as a console/trumeau to be placed against a wall. Here the "entire" model with pedestal.
Eight coat hooks, coat and hat racks, with original tips turned in the shape of an "olivette" (typical of kohn). Umbrella and walking stick stand called "double".
Very good condition of conservation and maintenance for a cloakroom of more than a century.
Original patina called "American mahogany".
Height 206 cm, crown width approx. 35 cm, pedestal width approx. 63 cm, wheelbase 55 cm.
