Old Chofa Garuda
Carved from wood and depicting the mythical bird Garuda, this Chofa (or chof ah) is an ancient mount of the god Vishnu. A Thai (Siamese) example dating to the early 19th century. Sold with its steel base, equipped with four adjustable feet and a tilt adjustment screw. Provenance: Estate of the collector and dealer of Asian art, Claude de Marteau.
