Odette du Bosch lived in Algeria from 1925 to 1962 with her husband Gérard du Bosch, an industrialist. She was a noted student in the "master classes" of the famous Flemish painter Émile Deckers, to whom the Notre-Dame d'Afrique basilica in Algiers owes the magnificent painting of its dome. Watercolorist, portraitist, the first part of his work reveals his love for Algeria and his painting testifies to his orientalism. After his return in 1962 to his native Limousin, numerous exhibitions were devoted to the landscapes and his property of Masdoumier. Honorary president of the Artists of Limousin[1], she bequeathed five of her most beautiful works to the Musée de l'Évêché de Limoges[2]. His goddaughter Any Misermont bequeathed three of his paintings to the Béziers Museum of Fine Arts. She describes her as a strong personality with a multiple and colorful palette like her paintings. The general delegation of Algeria, the town hall and the National Museum of Algiers acquired several of his works at the time.
