Gabriel Augizeau The artist was born on December 13, 1894 in Nieul-le-Dolent. died in 1963. The Augizeau family moved to Les Sables-d'Olonne around 1905-1910, Gabriel Augizeau devoted himself entirely to painting. Most of the year, he worked in his studio. But in the summer, he settled in his "cabin" which opened onto the embankment. The port, the sailing boats, the ferryman of the channel were the painter's main subjects. The coastline too, including the wild coast of Château-d'Olonne with the famous Pain de sucre, the island of Saint-Jean.
