Boats in calm weather, oil on wood, dimensions 42 cm x 62 cm, with the frame 62 cm x 82 cm, attributed to Pieter de Zeelander, Holland mid-17th century. Dutch marine painter, he was born in Haarlem in 1620, in 1648 he left for Rome where he became a member of the bentvueghels, an association of Dutch and Flemish artists who resided in Rome. He was given the nickname Kaper, which means corsair. Works by him are in the Albertina in Vienna, the Frankfurt Museum, the Bamberg Museum, etc.
