JUDIKAËL (Pierre Juhel) was born in 1937 in the town of Coutances, this heritage city in the heart of a country of art and history where he has often exhibited, like the high places of Lower Normandy such as Caen, Alençon, Cabourg, Bayeux. After having had a happy and melancholic childhood, serene and contemplative, which will sow in him the creative substance remaining his own throughout his life as a painter. From an often naive drawing, he will seek to sublimate himself to communicate to us this strange poetic invention which brings an essential dose of purity to the artistic world. He acts as a catalyst of dreams made of mysteries and reality. As Braque instills in him, he deliberately sets aside the geometric or concrete aspect of things, to build his own projection through the soul of the heart of his work. His dynamic activity within the National Federation of French Culture of Deauville and the development of a creative artistic group, where as a master of opinion he welcomes a few happy disciples under the aegis of the association "Gama". Indeed, JUDIKAËL seems to have nothing to do with traditions and hardly seems to let himself feel any trend. Without any influences, he unfolds his saga of beings and places with a quiet generosity that is jostled by his vehement colors and his rough characters yet so close to everyday life. First, under this influx of worked, shocked, painted hues, what a powerful composition where an apparent instinct and a constant harmony collide... This is passion, the real one, the one that does not fear to shock with its frank and brutal vitality, authentic signature of an atmosphere that crushes the cuteness with an unusual audacity. But, in truth, how attractive are these muscular canvases, with their diverse themes, their combative contrasts, where the beings with powerful forms nevertheless retain this meditative or melancholic brilliance of the gaze while a barbaric decorum welcomes the native anecdote or the bold sensuality of the baits, the sites or the flowers, with a dynamic of the touch which astonishes and amazes, far from the famished compositions of a languishing impressionism.
