Souche Lapparra : Vermeil Sterling Silver Dessert Flatware Set, Josephine Pattern By Biennais
Sublime Empire Style Dessert-Entremets Flatware Set in Vermeil (Gold on Silver). Thisvery rare model called "Josephine" was designed by Guillaume Martin Biennais, the goldsmith of Napoleon 1st, from the drawings of Charles Percier. The matrices were transmitted over time to Queillé, then Henin and finally Souche & Lapparra.
This exquisite set comrises 12 Forks, 12 Spoons, and 12 Knives, a total of 36 Pieces decorated on an amati background with Putti, fleurons, palmettes, crossed Cornucopias loaded with fruit, vine branches / bunches of grapes, Swans with outstretched wings... The knives of the pattern have a variation of decoration with the same elements except that the putti are replaced by Women in the Antique style. Knives have stainless steel blades with the mention "Paris".
Masterly crafted from the highest quality silver, each piece is punched with the Minerva 1st Standard (.950) Hallmark, and mark of Master Goldsmiths SOUCHE & LAPPARRA (Hallmark with the initials "SL" and a tree stump). This sublime flatware set in the extremely rare model called Joséphine is in excellent condition with its rich Vermeil beautifully preserved, and just the lighest signs of use to note. It is presented in its original box signed "SOUCHE LAPPARRA". Designed and finely crafted to grace the very finest of tables....
