This antique and rare porcelain figurine by Carl Thieme depicts a courting couple beneath a tree. The gentleman kneels, gesturing toward the lady seated opposite him, both dressed in traditional attire. The lady holds a straw hat, with a small lamb standing beside her. Two small birds perch on the tree above them. The piece is richly detailed, featuring intricate hand-painted floral patterns and vibrant colors, which are hallmarks of Thieme’s high-quality Dresden porcelain. An underglaze blue company mark from the period is visible on the bottom.
Carl Thieme, a renowned porcelain modeler, was born in 1838 in Potschappel, near Dresden. He began his career at the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory in 1856, honing his skills under expert craftsmen. In 1872, he founded the Carl Thieme Porcelain Manufactory in Potschappel, specializing in finely crafted porcelain figures, vases, and decorative objects. Known for their intricate detail and vibrant colors, Thieme's creations gained international recognition and received awards at exhibitions worldwide. Today, his works are showcased in museums and private collections, reflecting his significant contributions to the art of Dresden porcelain.

Condition: Excellent overall condition. A few leaves are damaged, but everything else is in exceptional shape, including the paint, enamel, and even the two birds on the tree. A high-quality figurine.
