Edo period. Japanese Byôbu screen with two sheets of silk paper mounted on leather canvas with floral decoration "Rimpa" of waders and water lilies. Japan around 1800. very slight accidents.
The screen is used in the 18th century in palaces or in the large houses of Japanese aristocrats. The Byôbu has two functions: The partition in an open space and also to block evil spirits.
The Japanese decoration of the 18th century directly inspired the European movement which will create the art nouveau based on the 3 F: Fauna, Flora, Feminine.
