Artist: Pierre Klemczynski
Large oil on canvas depicting a statue of St. John Dimensions 116x87 canvas, 136.5 x 101.5 frame chassis mounted Its key backdrop are always of high quality (stucco) Dated 1968 Klemczynski Pierre was born in Saint-Claude 31 March 1910. At the eve of the First World War, his family moved to Paris. Pierre took classes at the art school Ernest Meissonier in St. Germain en Laye and regularly visits the Louvre. He enters the 30s as a decorator in French theater sets and executes under the direction of Raoul Dufy. Meanwhile he directed and presented his first personal works; landscapes, architecture, still life compositions and Indoor few portraits, themes to which he remained committed throughout his career. 1935: Exhibition at the Winter Fair and the Salon des Independants. 1942 Exhibits at Saint-Claude. 1943 Exhibited at the Salon de Franche-Comté in Besançon. From 1944 he devoted himself exclusively to painting. The meeting with Georges Giraudon, critical to the weekly "Arts" and founder of the Ecole de la Bastille is decisive in the aesthetic choices of the painter: attach the drawing, to avoid the seam that locks, remove drop shadow and reflection, generate the form of the superposition of colors. 1951: Exhibition at the Gallery Pelletan-Helleu, boulevard Saint Germain in Paris. 1953: Exhibition at the Autumn Salon. Pierre Klemczynski revives the Jura settling near Lons-le-Saunier. 1968: Exhibition at the Galerie Durand-Ruel, avenue de Friedland in Paris. 1972: Critics Award. 1973: Leonardo da Vinci Award. 1977 and 1981: Exhibition at the Katia Granoff Gallery Place Beauvau in Paris. Alongside the exhibitions in Paris, many exhibitions take place in the provinces and abroad. His subjects are varied composition: old abandoned toys, dolls and obsolete trinkets, old seamstress mannequins and statues, furniture fragments, fallen birds and small game. They question the very life like so many passages of the subject to the object of the animated inanimate, the presence in the absence, of life and death. 1989: Retrospective at Castle Ultimate Bousselange, the painter residence. Pierre Klemczynski died February 10, 1991.
