Delightful pair of original watercolors signed lower right René Rougerie, depicting luminous landscapes in the Bandol area, in southern France. Each sheet (33 x 25 cm) is painted on paper and reflects the artist’s fluid brushwork and masterful handling of color, typical of his Mediterranean inspiration.
The scenes feature warm-toned hills, pine trees, rocks and flowing water in a tranquil setting. Rougerie’s spontaneous gesture and eye for light convey the spirit of Provence.
