Sernij, Rare Tinned Copper Wedding Milk Jug, Iran, Tabriz Region, 19th Century

Sernij, this delicate container offered at the wedding, is used for the conservation of milk and for the preparation of "gatig" very similar to cream.
Heavily decorated tinned copper, presence of the hanging chain and its lid, the object is complete and rare in such good condition.
From the end of the 19th century, birds, animals, branches and almonds make up this delicious everyday object.
Originally from Iran, probably from the Tabriz region, the Sernij is found in Azerbaijan and Central Asia.
