Bust of Beethoven carved in a rather beautiful piece of boxwood with a magnificent red patina. Popular work, the artist was able to give an almost smiling expression to the composer which is a change from the many representations with the always serious face that we know of him. Some cracks otherwise good condition signed on the back end of the 19th century
