Bilobed lidded bowl with two handles and matching base, made of hard-paste porcelain, featuring a dynamic shape with twisted ribs and wickerwork reliefs (known as the ‘Ozier’ design).
The hand-painted decoration features rich bouquets of naturalistic polychrome flowers (tulips, roses, anemones). The rims of the cup, lid and saucer are adorned with cobalt-blue mosaic bands, enhanced by foliage scrolls, garlands of leaves and rocaille scrolls in brilliant gold relief. The double-coiled side handles and the fretel on the lid, shaped like a flower bud in relief, are delicately outlined in gold.
Marked with a red sceptre beneath the base. (mark of the KPM Berlin manufactory).
Germany (Prussia). Neo-Rococo (Historicism) period, second half of the 19th century, circa 1860–1880.
