Romanesque Stone Sculpture
Today we are presenting an exceptionally rare thing, a stone sculpture from the ROMAN period, 13th century, maybe 14th century at worst, partly in the round. It is a standing lion, very used in decoration at that time. In fact, it is a left jamb of a fireplace from that period, a fireplace that was dismantled a long time ago and whose jamb stayed outside. What makes us certify this is that, as you can see from the photos, the part that was in the hearth has remained flat and without sculpture. Very good condition, very reasonable price for a rare thing. (E24)
