Under the artistic direction of François-Théodore Legras and subsequently his successors during the Art Deco period, the Saint-Denis glassworks produced pieces featuring highly modern, geometric and stylised motifs, utilising the technique of acid-etched glass and the contrast between matt and glossy finishes.
Our display glass, which forms part of Legras glassworks’ iconic range from the 1920s and 1930s, showcases the poetic beauty of the Art Deco animal motif, elegantly combining the vibrancy of cobalt blue glass with the delicate craftsmanship of the swallows.
