Louis XV Style Crystal And Silver Ewer, Minerva Hallmark, 19th Century
Graceful pouring ewer in blown crystal cut with fluted ribs, the Louis XV style mount is in silver decorated with rocaille motifs and acanthus leaves that cascade down.
The neck is very finely worked: the spout is closed by a lid whose grip is decorated with a flower motif in relief. The handle is scalloped. The base of the ewer is decorated with a frieze of pearls. The interior is vermeille.
The goldsmith's hallmark "Minerva" is on the neck of this ewer in 1st title 925/⁰⁰ silver, proof of its authenticity and quality.
