The Ngombe (or Ngɔmbɛ) are a Bantu population of the Democratic Republic of Congo. They live mainly in Equateur Province, in the north-west of the country.
The life of these ‘water people’ is closely linked to that of the Congo River. They fish and farm on the banks and trade upstream and downstream.
The Ngombe belong to the Bangala language group. They live on the banks of the Equateur River, where they form one of the majority groups.
