"Kirstein : Rare Sterling Silver Sugar Sifter Spoon - Strasbourg 1787 - Coat Of Arms"
Rare 18th century solid silver Strasbourg sugar sifterspoon, filet model. Spatula engraved with the Alliance Coat of Arms under a Marquis' Crown. Very exceptional and extremely rare pierced work (not listed in Mr Kenber's reference work) articulated around a large central rosette with a Pansy or four-leaf clover in its center with a tulip motif surround. STRASBOURG Recognition Hallmarks, Common House Hallmark for STRASBOURG 1787-88 (3 topped with a plumed helmet) and Hallmark of the prestigious Master Goldsmith Jean-Jacques KIRSTEIN received in 1760. This rare and exceptional Strasbourg Sugar Sifter Spoon is in very good condition and remarkably hallmarked, micro-scratches from use. For the discerning collector ....
