Popular Collectible Cane Carved Napoleon I In Boxwood - 19th Century

Artist: Art Populaire Français
Magnificent French folk art cane in finely carved monoxyl wood, dating from the early 19th century and reflecting the history of that era.

The pommel part is decorated with a seated lion, the back of whose head acts as a whistle. Under the latter we find Napoleon I on one side and a monk on the opposite (certainly wanting to represent the Concordat),
Below advocates symbolic attributes such as the imperial eagle, two crossed cannons, the crown and crosses. .., the rest of the shaft of the cane is artfully carved in the shape of a coiled serpent,

the whole evoking themes of power and wisdom. Unique and exceptional piece, good general condition, with slight traces of wear, cracks and knots in the wood consistent with the age of the object,

Ideal for collectors of popular cane or Napoleonic history looking for exceptional objects that bear witness to the know-how of yesteryear.
or to enhance an interior with an unusual decoration.
