The sextant is an optical instrument used for navigation that measures the height of celestial objects above the horizon.

This model made by "Heath and Son" of London for "T.L. Ainsley Ltd", dates back to around 1939 and comes with an original mahogany case and various internal accessories.
The conditions are excellent.

Inside, there is also a card certifying that this sextant has a class A standard and that it was examined by the National Physical Laboratory in Teddington on April 12, 1939.

All internal accessories are well arranged inside the box, there is also a safety button that is used to release the sextant.
The optics are functional and in good condition.
