"Ecce Homo – Statue Of Christ – 18th Century"
"Here is the man". These are the words attributed to Pontius Pilate when he presented Jesus to the crowd, as he left the praetorium. Our wooden and polychrome sculpture with a flat back represents Him standing, crowned with thorns and wearing a cape, both hands tied by a rope.
On the back is engraved 1740, accompanied by a capital G and the name BELLAERT, probably referring to the sculptor who worked on it.
Dimensions: 80 cm high by 28 cm wide and 15 cm deep
Condition of use - large cracks at the feet and neck - small losses and gaps.
