Turkish Turban Rest, Gilded Wood, Late 19th Century
Elegant Turkish ribbon rest in gilded wood, late 19th century. This decorative piece features rich openwork carving with floral and plant motifs. The main body features finely chiseled scrolls and arabesques, enhanced with stylized flowers with green and red petals. The upper part is crowned with a large fan motif. The base supports a small shelf intended to hold ribbons or other delicate objects. The whole is entirely gilded with leaf. There are some traces of wear and patina attesting to its authenticity.
