Large 18th century style carved and gilded wooden bed. Very high quality carved shell and scroll decoration. Original gold leaf gilding. (small losses and restorations.) Carved bed without stucco additions. Stamped LEYS in Paris several times. Cabinetmaker, upholsterer and decorator located at 3 place de la Madeleine in Paris. Supplier to the Emperor of Japan, Jacques Doucet, JP Morgan, Vanderbilt, King of Greece....... Maison LEYS also created the Decorative Arts Pavilion at the Paris World's Fair in 1900 as well as that of Saint Louis (Miami USA). Exceptional bed made in Paris in the last years of the 19th century.
