We present this superb painting, oil on canvas framed by a well-known and recognized painter named Raymond Jean VERDUN born in 1873 in Nogent - le - Rotrou, died in 1954 at the age of 81 in Pas de Calais. He was the student and friend of HARPIGNIES. Our painting is painted in the style of Fauvism with a landscape composed mainly of trees and we feel the influence of his master HARPIGNIES. I bought back part of his studio 30 to 40 years ago but no painting in what I have owned had such power and was of such a large format. I must still have a few. This work is framed soberly, without gilding and in wood as materials. (E24)
