19th Century Gilt Bronze Fireplace Trim
Spectacular mantelpiece consisting of a clock and a pair of candelabra with five light arms. The movement is suspended and dates from 1870-1880. The foot of the clock is decorated with laurel leaves, two chimeras support the movement which is topped with a cherub topped with a cornucopia. The candelabra follow this same decoration where we find three busts of putti supporting the upper part. Beautiful original gilding in very good condition.
