Important mantelpiece, composed of a clock and two two-light candelabra, Napoleon III, circa 1870, Paris. The clock in patinated bronze represents Cupido. The two candelabra in patinated and gilded bronze are supported by putti. The whole rests on a base in red porphyry. Porphyry can take many colors, but it is red that is historically the most prestigious. Clock: H = 35.5 cm, W = 16.5 cm Candelabra: H = 53 cm, W = 21 cm
