Tulip Chalice In 925/1000th Silver - 19th Century
Our chalice rests on a foot decorated with stamped oval medallions depicting the theological virtues. Hope symbolized by an anchor, Faith by a chalice as well as a cross, and finally Charity, supreme virtue, represented by a mother protecting her four children.
Between each of our representations are motifs of a Sacred Heart, a radiant Cross and the Tablets of the Law in clouds.
The pear-shaped barrel with scrollwork is decorated with vine branches, a Eucharistic symbol. The false cup, for its part, is decorated with medallions and foliage scrolls. Minerva 1st title after 1838 therefore.
The Master Goldsmith's Hallmark although present is illegible Height of 28.5 cm for 394 grams.
