Beautiful copy of the famous Discobolus (= disc thrower) attributed to the Athenian sculptor Myron (5th century BC) with black patina on a black marble base with light veins. This is a bronze from the Grand Tour from the first half of the 19th century (see the fixings to the base, the absence of vine leaves) Fine carving Very good condition. Lots of strength and presence.
