Beautiful archaic man's head, the hairstyle formed of long parallel wavy locks surrounded by a headband.
Roman art, Hellenistic period / Greek influence face reworked in the 2nd century
height of marble alone: 22 cm
on a marble base: 36 cm with the base
exceptional collector's item which presents two different styles 4 centuries apart, rare model.
Condition: missing nose and chin (trace of old antique reconstruction, probably removed in modern times)

-Private collection, acquired in the 1950s, then through family descent until 2012.
