Chalice and paten in silver and gilded silver in neo-Gothic style. Chalice rests on a six-lobed, projecting foot. On the terrace: a embossed and chiseled decoration of aquatic plants on the flattened part, flowering stems on the convex part. A flowered cross adorns among this floral ornamentation. The barrel is tubular, decorated with two collars which tighten the chiseled lanceolate leaves on each side of a massive toric knot highlighted with friezes of pearls and stylized water lilies. The conical cup with a slightly flared edge is set in a cut and guilloché faux-cut which keeps the same floral ornamentation as the terrace of the chalice foot. Weighted foot. The chalice is assembled from five screwed elements. Formerly golden. France around 1850 Minerva hallmarks 950/1000 on the cut and on the edge of the foot. This chalice does not bear a goldsmith's hallmark, given the elegance of its execution, we can assume that it was made in the workshop of the Lyon master Armand - Calliat Patene in vermeil, Minerva hallmark, 950/1000 Goldsmith hallmark : Jolly Stone late 19th century The IHS monogram surrounded by the crown of thorns is engraved on the paten, it is perfectly suited to both the decor of the caliсe and the size of its cup.
