Camillo de Lellis was an Italian religious and priest. He was the founder of the Order of Clerics Regular Ministers of the Sick. In 1746 he was proclaimed a saint by Pope Benedict XIV and, together with St. John of God, universal patron of the sick, nurses and hospitals.
