Reliquary Statue Of Saint Francis Of Assisi - 17th Century
Interesting reliquary in this round-shaped and polychrome carved wooden group, fixed on an octagonal-shaped terrace. Saint Francis dressed in a homespun robe, arms outstretched, is taken to heaven by two angels.
This representation reminds us that he received the stigmata by an angel. On his bust, a small central alcove protected by a glass capsule, accommodates an ex-ossibus relic of our Holy Man.
