Saint Anne And The Virgin, Large Terracotta 18th

Large terracotta statue, the education of the Virgin by Saint Anne, beautiful drapery and expressive faces. These statues with honeycomb structures were fired in tile kilns, too small to place them in a single part. They were therefore cooked in several elements, then assembled using wrought iron staples. Good general condition despite some small losses and detached elements. Presumably 18th or early 19th century, manufactured in Le Mans or the South West.
