DESCRIPTION: magnificent large box or box from the Napoleon III period, composed of fine boulle marquetry of brass, mother-of-pearl and tortoiseshell. Fine marquetry, with scroll patterns, foliage and interlacing. Beautiful ornamentation of gilded bronzes with multiple ingot molds, spandrels on the cover, handles, bronze feet. Interior in malissandre framed with fine nets, presence of three compartments. very nice dimensions for this large, refined and quite impressive box. Key not functional. DIMENSIONS: L 50 cm x W 35 cm x H 16cm PERIOD: Napoleon III around 1860 CONDITION: very good general condition, glossy varnish, impeccable marquetry, slight defects from use.
